Today, with a giant pot of the absolute best chili I have ever made/ tasted, I am celebrating. Celebrating sitting beside my husband at church for the first in a very long time. So thankful for a guy who stays up after a night shift and sacrifices his sleep to spend time with me and time with Jesus. Thank you @antoni for sharing your amazing talent with us all. This chili is warming my soul and I can’t stop devouring all these recipes.

First full day off for this guy in what feels like a long time. Sunset cheesin and fish tacos before heading back to good ole Greenville. Also, peep the parents who got to experience OBX for the first time this weekend 💛

Drove to Currituck and arrived right at sunset. Saw this sweet little spunky girl having fun on the beach with her momma. The most whimsical and beautiful place. Baking is such a therapy for me. Being forced to slow down and take the time to knead the dough, flour coated countertops,the sound of the mixer and the sweet delicious aroma that fills the house. #cinnamonrolls #baking #therapy #doctorswife #residency #EMresidency #slowmornings

Worship music blaring through my headphones as I pour my heart into painting. The product finding itself a home above the new chair. This little spot in our living room is starting to feel moody and dramatic and I’m digging it.

Still getting used to this EM residency thing. In all honesty I’ve struggled at being positive through all of the transitions. The rare days off are never on the weekend, which means I go to church alone. Night shifts, which are my worst enemy. Sneaking around the house while Ben sleeps during the day and doing my best not to redo everything in our house while he’s gone. I’m not here to complain, but I am here to admit it has been hard. Thank goodness for a gracious husband and a gracious God. I am flawed but I am thriving through the love of Jesus. Ps. We snuck to New Berne last night for a dinner out and scored with crab cakes, French onion soup and a really cool town on the water.

Growing up my mom always grew a huge garden. There were always zucchini’s the size of my arm and so many we would just give them away by the end. Zucchini bread feels like home in a bread pan for me. My mom would (still does) make it all summer long and even freeze some to have in the fall and winter. It was on the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So yesterday I pulled out my mom’s recipe card and tried my hand at the infamous zucchini bread. Anyone else get super nostalgic over stuff like this?
