In honor of this being my very first post I figured it would be appropriate to fill you in with what’s going on in my life currently.
First off: Wedding Planning
I am recently engaged to my sweet sweet fiance Ben, who I am so very thankful for. I would love to go on and on about him but I’ll save that for another time. Anyway, ever since we got engaged my life has been a whirl wind of wedding planning and school. I have always thought I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding to be like but boy am I more indecisive as ever at this point. The options for everything are limitless and my Pinterest boards are bearing little to no help (as I thought they would guide my entire planning process).
Just to give you an idea, this is one of my favorite pins I have in my wedding Pinterest board.
I’ll make sure to include more details in later posts, but for now I’ll keep it simple. So far we have decided on our venue, bridal party attire, photographer, florists, save the dates, registry, and currently are in the process of narrowing down caterers. Oh I almost forgot, but I also have picked out my dress (which may be the most exciting accomplishment). Here’s a sneak peek of a few of my favorite engagement photos that were captured.
Second: School/Christmas break
Tomorrow is my last day of Christmas break off of school. It is such a bitter sweet feeling, but I am beyond thankful for the time I was able to spend with friends and family over the break. Reconnecting with high school friends is such a sweet time full of laughs and stories from the college’s that separate us. My gal group of friends got together and had a holiday party, which included hot cocoa, a photo shoot, and of course the annual gift exchange. Having such a solid group of friends is such a gift in itself. Here’s a quick snap of some of the fun we had.
These ladies have showed me endless support and excitement towards my recent engagement and I can’t wait for them to be with me on the big day. (We were also mad at Emily, who recently returned from Florida with an awesome tan that put all of our skin tones to shame).
The four weeks I had off were pretty low-key and relaxing for the most part. Ben and I celebrated with both of our lovely families and ate way too much food in the process. Christmas break was also a much needed time for wedding planning as it’s Ben’s last long break before studying for his STEP exam (yuck).
The idea of starting a new semester brings so many different emotions. It’s strange having all new classes but it’s also the reason I’m semi-excited to restart. I don’t know about you but I’m thrilled to begin a structured daily schedule again.
My 2016 was one to remember, and I am so glad that I will be able to share my 2017 with you.
